This one’s for the cat ladies.

These Charlotte Olympia kitty loafers that caught my fancy a while back, are cute alright, but a tad pricy too. While I dig the whole “why buy, when you can DIY” thing, I’m not for ruining a perfectly good (read: wearable to work) pair of suede loafers for a micro-trend.

And then I came across a few more purrfectly adorable kitty inspirations. To DIY or not to DIY is the question.

p.s. i made this

Work those sides with panel pants.

It’s like body definition, without the hard work.
It’s like makeup contouring, but for your clothes.
It’s like graphic illusion, without the magic spells.
Side panel pants – instant slimming effect that’s perfect for pear-shapes.

Thin isn’t in!

It’s a great time to have thick brows and, I, the brow-blessed, am definitely not complaining. Bushy brows don’t mean they need to have an unkempt 80s style, untouched wilderness look. Just stay off the tweezers and let them grow, but keep it nicely shaped. If you have delicate features, bold brows will help balance your face.  But if you have thick bangs, I’m not sure if thick brows work. Also, for a day look, I think strong brows call for softer eye makeup. And you know what the best part is? Bold brows make you look younger. Now, who doesn’t want that!

Barefoot Shoes!

Barefoot Shoes!

Person 1: These pumps are killing my feet

Person 2: Yeah, mine too. Wish I could walk around in bare feet!

Person 1: You know what would be a cool idea for shoes?

Person 2: What?

Person 1: Pumps that looked like bare feet!!!

Person 2: OMG! That’s so rad. Let’s make them!

Well, I can’t think of any other reason why people would want to buy Celine’s naked feet pumps. Wait, would you?

P.S.: On the bright side, no more chipped toe nails!

The rules of stacking!

The arm party has been on for a while now. But if you still have doubts on how to win the wrist wars. Here’s the word:

  • Which hand? I prefer left. You could do right or even both. If you’re doing both, divide the statement pieces equally.
  • How many? I’d say 3 is company, 4 is a party, and the elbow is your limit.
  • A watch is a must-have! But if you’re worried about the scratching, wear a thrifted one.
  • On mixing, it’s fine to mix metals – gold, silver, bronze, copper, steel all go well together. You could mix beads, charms, bangles and rope too – the more the merrier!
  • Have fun playing – with colours (go monotone or wear it all at once), textures (delicate with edgy) and widths (broad with thin).
  • If you don’t like the jingle-jangle, mix up the order of the elements, like plastic next to metal next to a friendship band next to beads.
  • I love how the trend transcends across styles. Your wrist reflects you and your outfit.
  • You definitely need a manicure because your hands hog the spotlight!

The one thing I don’t like about this trend is mixing high-end with low-end. I’m afraid mixing makes designer stuff look cheap. But then, that’s just me.

I’m obsessing about safety pins lately, thanks to these delightful pictures on the www.

It’s lovely how a tiny pin can create so much drama. And the best part is you have a versatile DIY material that’s right under your nose, begging to be played around with. Twist it, wrap it, string it,– whatever you do, don’t be safe with it!

Smoking hot lips!

The first time I saw these Prada appliqué beauties from the SS ’12 collection, I wanted them.

The next time I saw someone wearing these, I didn’t want them, I needed them.

I love the picture of the smoking woman with the smoking clutch – too much attitude. And the shoes look like you have a ciggie tucked between your toes – too cute. Thank god, they were sold out online!

Bejeweled Bespectacled!

It’s a good time to be a geeky chick because spectacles are having their moment right now. Statement, yes. Wearable, don’t know.

A pair of Mercura NYC glasses is all you need to grab eyeballs.
